Step 1
Your first step in buying a home is to fully understand your finances and knowing how much you can afford.
Finding your team in home buying will include having the right people buy your side helping you along with all the steps in making the process a smooth one and achieving success.
Step 2
You will want to get a pre-qualification letter from a bank on the amount you want to spend. This is the first step for when you will need a mortgage. Having this pre-qualification letter allows sellers and your real estate professional to know you’re a serious buyer and can afford the home you are considering.
If there are other offers for the same home or property, your bid will be most likely favored and will be in a better position to negotiate an offer.
Step 3
Now it’s time to decide on the type of home you’re looking for, the location and acreage. Factors to consider would be are you willing to do improvements or do you want a turn key home. Types of homes include Single Family Homes, Condos, Co-ops, Townhomes, Multi-family homes or fixer-uppers.
Step 4
Schedule showings with your realtor, when you find a favorite make an offer. Once it’s accepted, schedule your inspections.
Step 5
Go to Contract. You will need an attorney. Begin your mortgage process.
